Lawson's Beer Dinner at Perfect Pear Cafe

Hey Friends!

There is still time to get a spot (there are only a few reservations left) for this Wednesday, April 28th, Beer Dinner at the Perfect Pear Cafe in Bradford, VT. The dinner begins at 6 PM and features a four-course meal perpared by chef/owner Adam Coulter. The menu looks divine! (See below). You may call (802) 222-5912 to make a reservation.

This is our first true beer dinner pairing at a restaurant, so it it truly exciting! What's even more exciting is that culinary wizard and homebrewer-turned-pub-brewer Adam is making the Perfect Pear Vermont's newest brewpub! Yes, indeed. If we get lucky, pehaps Adam will even have some of his house-brewed beer on tap for the dinner.

For those of you in attendance, I also anticipate breaking out a few vintage or special bottles to share in addition to what you see listed on the menu....it'll be a surpise!

Maple Tripple - 2010 World Beer Cup Winner!

Yes, you read that right. Our tiny 1bbl brewery, competing against breweries from around the globe scored a medal!

Maple Tripple - Specialty Beer category - 2010 World Beer Cup® - Bronze Medal!!!!

The World Beer Cup® is now the largest and perhaps most prestigious commercial beer competition in the world!

Here's the official word from the Brewers Association:

"Brewers from six continents earned awards from an elite international panel of judges this week in the 2010 Brewers Association World Beer Cup - the world's largest-ever commercial beer competition. The eighth bi-annual competition announced awards to brewers from 19 countries ranging from Australia and Italy to Iceland and Japan. This year, 642 breweries from 44 countries and 47 U.S. states vied for awards with 3,330 beers entered in 90 beer style categories."

Lawson's tiny Vermont brewery, in a state known for its Maple Syrup, pulled off an unlikely victory, by bringing home bronze in a competition of some of world's most renowned and biggest breweries! Our Maple Tripple ale is a very special, once-a-year beer that is onlymade at the end of maple sugaring season. The base of this beer is made with 100% concentrated maple sap, which replaces all of the water in the brewing process, giving this beer enticingly rich and complex maple flavors and aromas. Maple Tripple is 10.1% alcohol, so it is truly a sipping beer! It makes an excellent pairing with a chocolate dessert or fresh sliced strawberries and whipped cream drizzled with pure Vermont maple syrup.

The 2010 Maple Tripple ale was brewed just last week and is bubbling away with fermentation as I write to you, making this an especially timely event! The beer takes several months to mature and will be ready for the first bottling in late summer.

We are honored to be recognized among the world's best beers!

Cheers!

- Sean and Karen Lawson
